About Me

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out this blog. My name is Kristen Mattson. I am a wife, mother of three, former English teacher and current high school Library Media Center Director in Aurora, Illinois. In this role, I partner with teachers in all content areas to integrate digital literacy, research skills, creation and innovation in the classroom. As part of a Future Ready school district, I have embraced the Future Ready Librarians framework, transforming our school’s library space and practices. I now enjoy supporting fellow librarians by hosting site visits, facilitating professional development, blogging about my experiences, and moderating the Future Ready Librarians’ Facebook group.

There is nothing better than learning and growing through my interactions with students, colleagues, and my extended PLN. Join me on Twitter @DrKMattson!

  1. i just read your article titled “What We Gained By Letting Go,” and am in the process of switching it up at my middle school. Just wondering if you would be willing to share the “Student Voice Survey” that you administered to your students to get input. If so, I would be very appreciative!
